How to Book More Friday and Sunday Weddings at Your Venue

Buzzword Strategies · 2026-10-23

You book more Fridays and Sundays by selling them as their own product, to couples who already want them, and by answering those couples first. Most venues list every date the same way and hope the overflow from Saturday spills over. It rarely does. The couples who'd happily take a Friday are out there. They just never see a venue talking to them.

Stop selling Friday as a cheaper Saturday

When the only Friday message on your site is a discount line under the Saturday package, couples read it as the leftover date. Some of them want a Friday for reasons that have nothing to do with price. Out-of-town guests can make a long weekend of it. The photographer they love is free. Their favorite band only plays Saturdays across town. A Sunday reception can run as a brunch and finish before dark, which suits couples with older family or young kids.

Give each of those days its own page section, its own photos and its own words. Show a real Friday evening ceremony, not a Saturday photo with a new caption. Show a Sunday brunch layout with the tables set for daylight. Couples decide on pictures first and read second.

Build a package that only makes sense on that day

A Friday package that's just the Saturday package with a smaller number feels thin. A Friday package with a welcome-party add-on, an earlier vendor load-in or a rehearsal dinner space folded in feels like it was made for them. Same with Sunday: a brunch menu partner, a shorter timeline, a late checkout for the wedding party. You're not giving more away. You're packaging the things a Friday or Sunday couple already needs.

This is the same thinking that helps a bridal boutique sell the whole bridal party instead of one gown. A good salon builds the appointment around the party, not the dress, and the bigger ticket follows. Here's how a boutique sells the whole bridal party.

Put those dates in front of couples who haven't made a list yet

By the time a couple fills out a form on a listing site, they're comparing six venues on price. The better moment is earlier, when they're scrolling on a weeknight and a venue they've never heard of shows them the exact Friday evening they didn't know they wanted. That's where Facebook and Instagram ads earn their place. You can aim at couples near you who are still choosing a venue and write the ad around the dates you actually have open.

Each ad should ask for the couple's date, guest count and season before it reaches your coordinator. That one step stops the price-only inquiries from eating your coordinator's week.

Answer first, every time

A couple who fills out a form at nine at night will often fill out two more before bed. The venue that answers first gets the tour. If your coordinator sees the inquiry at ten the next morning, the couple may already have a tour booked somewhere else. An instant text back under your venue's name, followed by your coordinator's call during the day, keeps you first in line.

We go deeper on that first hour in why venue inquiries go cold.

Track the dates, not just the leads

Count how many Friday and Sunday tours you book each month, and how many of those turn into signed contracts. Leads are easy to count and easy to fake. Booked open dates are the number that pays.

How we run it for venues

Through MoreWeddingDates, a team runs those ads under your venue's name, builds the page that asks the right questions, and sends every inquiry to your coordinator's phone the second it lands, with a text back inside sixty seconds. Your coordinator books the tour. It's part of the work Buzzword Strategies does for wedding businesses like venues, salons and florists. Questions owners ask

Should Friday weddings cost less than Saturday?

Often they do, but price shouldn't be the whole pitch. Sell the reasons a couple wants a Friday, then let the price be a nice surprise.

What makes a good Sunday wedding package?

Things a Sunday couple already needs: a brunch or early-dinner menu, a shorter timeline, an earlier finish and a relaxed load-out for vendors.

Do we need to stop using listing sites?

No. Keep them. Ads reach couples before they've made a list, which is a different moment from a listing site.
